Remote Working
Today there are multiple options for remote working, and amicitia customers benefit from using different technologies for different situations, including;
Checking email in between meetings & simple attachments - Via a blackberry, smart phone or any phone with a basic browser. This would be based upon Outlook Mobile Access, Blackberry Server, Exchange Active Sync or Outlook Web Access.
Checking emails and composing responses / viewing all attachments – Via Outlook web Access (any PC connected to the Internet with a browser) or Outlook using RPC over https (Full Outlook client without the need for connecting a VPN first)
Accessing files occasionally from outside of the office – Via a VPN, which then allows the user ti browse network drives and open and save files directly to the server.
Working regularly from outside the office – Via Terminal Services (secured within a VPN) which entails a user remote controlling a virtual PC (running on a Terminal Server). Fast performance is achieved (compared to a VPN) as only screen refreshes, and keyboard/mouse strokes are transmitted through over the Internet.
