Would you be able to recover your data, in the event of accidentally deleting data or some other loss?

The most popular methods of back-up are tape and on-line. The problem is that both have a daily action and need to be checked, most of time by way of a simple email notification (monitoring).

How do you know that your important data is being backed-up and that the back up is working correctly? amicitia suggests that a test restore should be carried out from the back-up at least every 3-months in addition to monitoring; as they say the proof is in the pudding!
